Mittlerer Schwarzwald – 1522 AD

The Shrine of the Teutonic Order is a long-abandoned site.
Its exact location is unknown.
Once a symbol of power and grandeur, it is now a shell of its former glory. So is its last host.
The Order deliberately built it in a secluded location to secretly guard the remains of the greatest Knights, those who had distinguished themselves by their abilities.
And so the Shrine became the final resting place for many Grand Magisters.

Ulrich was the last Guest, not by merit, but by his own specific order.
Defeated in the Battle of Runwald, he was left to die in the Shrine, locked up as he wished.
Since then, the Shrine has been abandoned by the Order. No one dares to set foot there again.
Thanks to the knowledge of Dark Magic, Ulrich’s spirit survives in his weathered body.

A few fools have attempted to breach the Shrine, now adding to the ranks of the undead.
Venturing there could open the door to great power, but are you sure you want to pay the price?

Bartholomaus

Bartholomäus is a wizard of Totentanz; and its Master.
Traditionally, the Master chooses their successor and trains them, until the latter defeats the Master and takes their place.
When this happens, the new Master buries their mentor and takes their mask, forever concealing their identity from the eyes of the rest of the Cult.
Behind Bartholomäus’ mask anyone can hide, man or woman, young or old.
Only one thing is certain: their total dedication to the cause.
This is precisely why Bartholomäus is now on a quest to find the lost Shrine of the Order of the Teutonic Knights. Reports tell of an enormous power held in its rooms. A power capable of summoning hosts of Templars under its control.
A power capable of making them Grand Master.

Ulrich

Ulrich von Jungingen was the 26th Grand Master of the Teutonic Order.
In a mad quest for power, he practiced dark magic throughout his life, hoping to make history and be remembered forever.
At the height of his power, he decided to unleash the Teutonic Order against Poland and Lithuania, convinced that he could easily subjugate them.
But his thirst for power made him arrogant, and in 1410 A.D. he lost his life in battle.
Because of his dark practices, his remains now restlessly lie in a shrine in his homeland.
He will continue to defend his legacy over time, until a new leader is able to give him the peace he craves.

Q.- Does Duel – Lex has a good variety and replayability?
A.- There are lots of elements that are combined together in different ways giving a very good variety of combinations and replayability. Not only the spell drawing system but also the position of the Room tiles on the gaming board.
