But at the heart of Malta is a secret that some of the island’s inhabitants zealously guard. A building lives in symbiosis with the tides, appearing and disappearing with the rhythm of the moons. Because of this peculiarity, the Black Rose covets it, but for now, other forces are watching over it.
Alice has arrived from Milan with her dark passenger, sent by the Black Rose to steal the secrets of the building.
But waiting for her is Alhazred, an ancient guardian, writer, and explorer, made immortal by his madness and symbiosis with the place.

Duel – Void introduces a new way to play fast and exciting two-player mage fights!
In Void, two players clash in the cramped underground rooms of a building in the middle of Malta, choosing and planning spells and actions from a common deck, managing their evocations and resources. Only through careful planning and taking advantage of your opponent’s every mistake may you achieve the ultimate victory.

Alhazred
Alhazred is a scholar. He is ageless.
He is said to have written not long ago the book about the undead,
those who walk without breathing, the Kitab al-Azif, better known
as the Necronomicon.
The Mad Arab has supported many caliphates with his powers
over time and has been watching over Malta for several decades.
During this time on the island he has identified a very powerful
magical conjunction, an intersection of magical streams, of voices,
that only the Perceivers can grasp.
Following these tides, he came to a semi-submerged cave where over
the years he built his abode.
Living so long in this place he too has changed, and his appearance
now resembles more that of a Mythos than that of a normal
human being.
Alice
Don’t let Alice’s appearance fool you.
She is not a child.
She has lived for over 100 years, deepening her studies of magic and the occult world.
When she was a child trying to separate reality from the world beyond the veil, she merged her mind with that of a strange being.
Since then, her appearance hasn’t changed and she lives in symbiosis
with her dark passenger.
The presence of Xibille, that is her name, has implemented Alice’s powers and now supports and protects her as their lives are inextricably linked.

Q.- Is Duel – Void a good product to enter the world of Black Rose Wars?
A.- Duel – Void is the fastest and easiest way to jump into the Lodge and start challenging the other mages! With only 30/45 min per game, you can also play multiple games in a row! Plus, when you will add Black Rose Wars or Rebirth to your collection, you can use Duel – Void material also with them: you will be able to add and use the new Mages and their personal spells, the Void School of Magic with its Evocations, the Forgotten Spells and the Room tiles to your games!
Q.- Does Duel – Void has a good variety and replayability?
A.- There are lots of elements that are combined together in different ways giving a very good variety of combinations and replayability. Not only the spell drawing system but also the position of the Room tiles on the gaming board. Plus, Quests are arranged in 2 double-sided cards, that interact with the 2 different faces of the Event card. In addition, if you are an experienced BRW player, you can have fun changing the School of Magic, the Rooms, and the Mages, and experiencing other variations that will add incredible longevity to Duel game mode. And the next step… why not a Duel tournament mode? 😇
Q.- Will Duel – Void be available in Retail?
A.- Yes, but:
– this is the first print, with limited quantities and a special Cover with UV Spot.
Q.- Will Duel – Void be printed in other languages?
A.- As you may know, we already have agreements in place for the Black Rose Wars saga for French edition (Intrafin) and German edition (Pegasus Spiele). Each publisher has its own strategy and schedule for their future releases. At the moment, we don’t have an indication regarding Duel – Lex. For Spanish and other languages, we’re dealing with several publishers for different localizations. Anytime we will close a deal, we will announce it on our official channels.
